Building on from the Partnership’s programmes on innovation, housing, transport and skills, the eleven local authorities in the city region have been working closely with a range of business sectors and partners to develop an outline proposal that reflects the needs of the city region businesses and of our economy.
The Leeds City Region LEP proposal draws on current city region arrangements and proposes taking on further responsibilities for strategy, funding, investment, planning and commissioning of economic development and regeneration activities.
Following the Government's announcement on the Partnership's successful LEP bid, the Leeds City Region Partnership has established a business-led Leeds City Region LEP Board which will be responsible for delivering the LEP business plan.
The Partnership's plan was launched at the Leeds City Region Summit on the 9 September and a open consultation is currently underway.
